When searching for scholarships, the sooner the better!  If you wait until spring of your senior year in high school to start searching, you may miss many deadlines.

  • Don’t for get to continue to search for scholarships after you are enrolled in college.
  • It might sound like a lot of writing, but by apply to every scholarship that you are eligible. By searching for lesser known scholarships, such as local community scholarships and essay contests, it gives you a greater chance of coming out on top.
  • Continue to check in to our college resource center, as community scholarships are always being added to our database.
  • Search for your name and make sure you have a professional online profile. Use a professional email address, such as firstname.lastname@gmail.com. Clean up the content of your social media accounts by removing inappropriate content. Stay organized by using a calendar and checklist so that you don’t miss important deadlines.
